life is!

I had the honor of meeting an 83-year-old man who has been struggling with prostate cancer.
What is so inspiring to me is that not only has he not given up on life but he’s opening two businesses and trying to write a book which is how we connected. He wanted my guidance on it.
But he’s also an artist and he does moose bone carvings and they are absolutely beautiful. His gift is without question and what I find so amazing is that in spite of all of his tragedies and trials he just keeps going and he just keeps dreaming and he just keeps believing.
He doesn’t let these things that could cripple most people hold him down. I wonder sometimes if we limit ourselves by our own belief. I think we do.
I think that our perspective can alter what we do in this life and I think that if we’re not willing to stretch ourselves and challenge ourselves and risk our “safety”, we never really live.
We don’t know what it means to put ourselves out there. I wonder what I’ll be doing in 30 years. If I’ll even be alive.
I certainly hope that if I am, I’m living life fully like this man. I hope that I don’t give up. I hope that I keep believing.
I hope that I keep trusting and I hope that I keep living.
This sign is out in front of his home… his mantra.
